Registrations open for the III Journey of Urology of the RN and VI Journey of Multidisciplinary Intervention in the Neurogenic Bladder

Entries are open for the III Journey of Urology of the RN and for the VI Journey of Multidisciplinary Intervention in the Neurogenic Bladder, events promoted by the Brazilian Society of Urology, section of Rio Grande do Norte (SBU-RN), and by the Santos Dumont Institute ( ISD), respectively. The journeys will take place together, on the 25th and 26th of August, at the Hotel Majestic, in Natal (RN).


The event is aimed at urologists, urooncologists, health professionals, residents and students of health and related areas. Among the confirmed speakers are doctors Serafico Jr., urologist specialist in Urinary Lithiasis, with extensive experience also in Endourology and Urological Laparoscopy; Adriano Calado, urologist specialist in Pediatric Urology and with experience in Robotic Surgery; Andreia Juliana, with residency in Internal Medicine and Clinical Cancerology; and Julião Bezerra, specialist in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging.


Registration will take place until the day of the event, in two stages of promotional lots. Interested parties can secure their spot on the Sympla website, or by clicking in this link. Multidisciplinary Intervention Day in the Neurogenic Bladder

The Journey of Multidisciplinary Intervention in the Neurogenic Bladder will promote its sixth edition together with the Journey of Urology. The event will feature the National Meeting of the Zika Network, in which the standardization of the care protocol for the bladder and intestine of children with Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome will be discussed. In addition, the results of research carried out in the area from the partnership between the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and the ISD, with the participation of Dr. Lucia Costa Monteiro (Fiocruz). Physiotherapist Kathiussa Dombek (Fiocruz) is also one of the guests, and will talk about her experience with the rehabilitation of patients with myelomeningocele in relation to neurogenic bladder and intestine. 


In addition, the event will feature round tables on care for patients with spinal cord injuries and perspectives on treatments for neurogenic bladder and bowel with neuromodulation, among other activities.


“The Neurogenic Bladder Journey aims to discuss, in a multidisciplinary way, strategies in the care of patients with Neurogenic Bladder and Intestines and, mainly, to show professionals what is new in research in the area.”, explains Natália Barbosa, preceptor ISD Physiotherapist. According to the professional, joining the Journey of the Bladder to the Journey of Urology opens the door for urologists in the RN to learn about the actions of the ISD aimed at the treatment of neurogenic bladder and intestine, in addition to bringing a multidisciplinary approach with the objective of improving the care for patients.
