ISD participates in the 1st Seminar Rio + Parasporto 2023 in a table on neuroscience applied to parasports

Researcher Edgard Morya, manager of the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), a unit of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) in Macaíba, is one of the guests at the 1st Rio + Paradesporto 2023 Seminar. and April 15 at the Augusto Motta University Center (UNISUAM), in Rio de Janeiro. 

 

The event was promoted by the National Association of Sports for the Disabled (ANDE), in partnership with the Rio de Janeiro City Hall and higher education institutions that operate in Brazilian para-sports. 

 

Researcher Edgard Morya is one of the guests at the table “Applied neuroscience in parasports”. Currently, ISD has a specific line of care in parasports, inserted in its Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER ISD).

 

The activities carried out in the line of care are directly related to research carried out in the institution's Master's in Neuroengineering. Recently, the ISD and the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) formalized a partnership for the installation of a Paralympic Center at the ISD CER, which will allow training para-athletes from base to high performance, with the objective of integrating rehabilitation and social inclusion through sport.
