Multiprofessional Residency: More than 120 candidates take part in the 2021 selection process this Sunday (24)

This Sunday (24) the tests of the 2021 selection process for the Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities, from the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), the first Residence in Brazil dedicated to the integral care of this public. The selection process that will result in the 4th group of the program received 148 applicants and, of these, 128 candidates who had applications deferred compete for the eight vacancies offered in the areas of physiotherapy, social work, psychology and speech therapy. 

The resident has the Specialized Center for Physical, Hearing and Intellectual Rehabilitation (CER III) of Center for Health Education and Research Anita Garibaldi, from the ISD, as the main practice scenario and receives a monthly work grant with a gross amount of R$ 3,330.43, paid by the Ministry of Health. 

Evidences

The tests take place at the Education Center, on the central campus of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Access to the test site will take place from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, with the application starting at 2:00 pm. Students are recommended to be there 30 minutes in advance. The respective examination rooms can be consulted here

To access the room and take the test, the candidate must have a ballpoint pen made of transparent material, black ink and an original identification document, the same used when registering in the selection process. 

Residence 

The Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities was approved in 2017 by the Ministry of Education and received the first class in 2018.

The in-service training programs last for 2 years and are carried out on a full-time, full-time basis, with a workload of 60 hours per week. 

The Specialized Center for Physical, Hearing and Intellectual Rehabilitation (CER III) of the Center for Health Education and Research Anita Garibaldi, ISD, is the main field of activity for residents.

Reference in the Unified Health System (SUS), Anita's CER serves people with refractory epilepsy; Parkinson's; Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD); spinal cord injury; microcephaly; hearing deficiency; prematurity and neurogenic bladder – and it is the first in the Northeast of Brazil to work integrated with a research and innovation system through joint work with the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences, also from ISD.

Assistance is linked to teaching, research and extension, with the training of health professionals focused on comprehensive and humanized care for the population. 

program expansion 

In addition to the four professions currently contemplated in the Residence, the program is expected to be strengthened with the entry of new courses such as Nursing, Pharmacy and Occupational Therapy. The expansion is already authorized by the Ministry of Education and opportunities for new courses should be included in future public notices in accordance with the emergence of scholarships for future residents.
