Posted in May 23, 2023

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) received, between May 17th and 19th, the eight members of the Commission for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Management Contract (CAACG) of the Ministry of Education (MEC) in its units located in Macaíba (RN ). The Commission is made up of specialists in the ISD's areas of activity. They are responsible for evaluating the fulfillment of the institution's mission as a Social Organization, and propose recommendations, possible corrective actions and new goals and horizons that can be achieved by the Institute. This was the first in-person visit by CAACG members to ISD since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the final report produced by CAACG after the visit, ISD reached 98% of the maximum evaluation score.

We are very happy with the resumption of face-to-face assessments by CAACG and MEC. This interaction with the reality of our actions, our people and the closer sharing of our experiences are essential for the Commission to have a more systemic view of the work that is carried out day by day at ISD, our strengths, our needs for development and improvement”, highlighted the General Director of ISD, Reginaldo Freitas Júnior.

The Commission had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Anita Garibaldi Health Education and Research Center (Anita) and the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS). They also got to know the lines of care at the ISD Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER ISD).

The president of CAACG, Fabio Cesar Braga de Abreu e Lima, who is head of the Department of Morphology and Children's Clinic at the Dental School of Araraquara at the State University of Paulista (Unesp), highlighted the growth observed by the ISD throughout its history. “I have followed the work of the Commission since the beginning, and the constant evolution and care with which the activities at ISD are carried out is remarkable, from graduation, passing through the excellent training in post-graduation and also in the cutting-edge research that is produced at the institution. Evolution at ISD is a constant”, he highlighted.

As a Social Organization, ISD has a Management Contract with the Ministry of Education. The Contract defines action strategies to fulfill ISD's mission as an executor of public policies. The impact of actions is measured through performance indicators and targets, agreed between the ISD and the MEC. The evaluation is carried out every six months by the Commission.

We have always understood the work of this commission as an important driving force behind our institutional growth and strengthening. The recommendations, course corrections, goals and proposed challenges have undoubtedly made us what we are today and, likewise, continue to encourage us to qualify and improve. The perception we have today is that there are multiple eyes, attentive and sensitive, that see our work from different perspectives and all imbued with the true desire to contribute to the achievement of our mission. This Commission also makes the ISD.”, added director Reginaldo Freitas Júnior.
