The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) published this Monday, May 23, a public notice with a vacancy for a researcher professor in the Data Science field. The selected candidate will join the interdisciplinary team of Neurosciences and Health of the institution. The submission of documents for selection will take place through the email selecao@isd.org.br until the 23rd of June. ISD is looking for a collaborative candidate with the competence to present scientific information to a broad audience and develop original and independent research. The selected person will be called to act immediately,  and will work 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. The vacancy is extended to people with disabilities. 

 

The wages are compatible with that of an assistant professor, plus benefits (health insurance, dental insurance, meal vouchers, food vouchers, group life insurance and chartered bus for the Natal-Macaíba-Natal transfer).

 

The basic requirements for all candidates are: PhD in Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Information Systems; Data Sciences; Computational Mathematics or correlated areas. 

 

The candidate must have proven experience in at least one of the following areas: data processing (electroencephalography, electromyography, field potential, action potential or kinematics); data mining, machine learning, big data and deep learning; development of algorithms in Python. In addition, you must have proven scientific publications related to neuroscience or biological data sciences (humans or animal models).

Upon application, it is mandatory to present: letter of intent to work at ISD, where you will explain why and how your skills fit into the institution’s interdisciplinary research and a brief research plan (3000 characters) within the lines of research at ISD, which can be viewed on the website (www.isd.org.br); resume; three confidential letters of recommendation that must be sent directly to the email selecao@isd.org.br, with the title “LETER OF RECOMMENDATION – [NAME OF CANDIDATE]”. Only applications that meet all the requirements set out in the notice will be approved.

 

Selection process

1st phase: curricular evaluation, of an eliminatory nature;

2nd phase: face-to-face interview and seminar presentation with a theme considering the research plan presented.

06/24/2022: Publication of approved registrations

06/27/2022: Call for those approved for the 2nd phase

07/04/2022 – 07/08/2022: Period of interviews and presentations

07/11/2022: Disclosure of the final results

The Institution has the first Master’s program in Neuroengineering recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, along with the first  Multiprofessional Residency in the Health Care of Persons with Disabilities. These programs work together in order to develop integrated solutions that will have a direct impact on the care and life quality of the population, combining health care, multidisciplinary work and scientific research.
