ISD opens three vacancies for professor (a) researcher (a); learn how to apply

The Santos Dumont Institute (ISD) published this Wednesday, May 28, a notice to fill three vacancies for professor (a) researcher (a). The selected people will work within the Institution's Graduate Program in Neuroengineering, the first recognized in Brazil by the Ministry of Education (MEC). The vacancies are aimed at the areas of programming and data processing in neuroscience and neuroengineering. Applications are open until the 28th of July. ISD is a non-profit private social organization linked to MEC. The institution is located in the municipality of Macaíba, in Rio Grande do Norte, and concentrates its activities in the areas of neurosciences, neuroengineering, maternal and child health and the health of people with disabilities. 

 

Vacancies are face-to-face, with a workload of 40 hours per week, distributed from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The salary is compatible with that of an assistant professor plus benefits, which include: health plan; dental plan; meal ticket; food allowance; group life insurance and chartered transport for the daily journey between Natal and Macaíba.

 

Based on a multidisciplinary approach, ISD offers a Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health Care for Persons with Disabilities and a Master's Degree in Neuroengineering, both pioneering programs in Brazil. The institution's mission is to promote education for life, using science as a tool for social development. 

 

The people selected for the positions will work at the Edmond and Lily Safra International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN-ELS), one of the two ISD units in Macaíba. There, they will have a work environment equipped with the necessary infrastructure and equipment for the development of teaching and scientific research activities. 

 

Among the basic requirements demanded for the vacancy are: doctorate in areas related to Computer Science; Computer engineering; Biomedical engineering; Information systems; Data Science; Computational Mathematics; Neurosciences; Neuroengineering; Epidemiology or Statistics. In addition, candidates are expected to have experience in biological data processing, machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and scientific publications in the area of neuroscience. Other mandatory and desirable requirements are set out in the selection notice.
